The Charlie Waller Memorial Trust (CWMT) is a registered charity that provides mental health training talks and resources to young people and those who work with or care f0r them.

The session will cover the following areas:

  • What do we mean by self harm?
  • Why might young people self-harm?
  • Risks and triggers
  • Talking to a young person who is self-harming or who has self-harming thoughts
  • Sources of support and information

Teachers, pastoral and support staff in primary and secondary schools.

This session will be delivered using a mix of information slides and film clips plus discussion exercises and a chance to share good practice.

This session outlines the work of Dr John Coleman on the Teen Brain. It provides an overview of the impact of adolescent brain development and allows an opportunity to discuss the implications of this for student mental wellbeing.
